Update January 12, 2012

From Michael…
This morning, just before dawn, Afternoon Deelites galloped out of the darkness heading straight for his feed tub. Gulch, in the neighboring paddock, was already waiting for his carrots and senior feed. Fortunate Prospect, at 31, lumbered over to the fence and whinnied while Swan’s Way wheeled back and waited impatiently. And then the sun came up. These are the days that energize horses and humans alike.Marquetry, looking fit and fancy after his recent surgery, danced in the round pen. Later, Diamond Stripes, fresh from Sunland Park and making a very quick adjustment to retirement, replaced him. Creator waited for Diane to feed him a ginger snap and Little Silver Charm, who always gets fed first, waited for more hay. It’s a gorgeous January in the bluegrass. We now take care of 116 Thoroughbreds who earned nearly $90 million and none of it would be possible without all of our unbelievable supporters. The Thoroughbred Charities of America kindly gave Old Friends their Industry Service Award and it belongs to all of us. It’s a tremendous honor and we’re very grateful.
