Bred by Shadwell Farm, Inc., Intidab, who was by Phone Trick–Alqwani, by Mr. Prospector, was foaled in Kentucky on March 20, 1993.
He began his six-year racing career as a 2-year old in 1995 in the United Kingdom with two starts at York Racecourse, where he ran in two maiden weight for age races and finished fourth on June 17, and third on Aug. 30.
He got his first win as a 3-year old in 1996 in a maiden weight for age race at Thirsk Racecourse in the United Kingdom on July 26.
Intidab continued to run overseas in Europe, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai until mid-1999. After running in three races that year in Abu Dhabi and Nad Al Sheba, he was shipped to the United States to continue his racing career.
In the United States, he was trained by Kiaran P. McLaughlin, for owner Shadwell Stable, and began to thrive. His biggest wins for them came in the A Phenomenon Handicap (G2) for his first graded- stakes win as a 6-year old in 1999, and the True North Handicap (G2) as a 7-year old in 2000.
Following a second in the Forego Handicap (G2) on Aug. 30, 2000, he was retired, with a record of seven wins, 12 seconds, five thirds, and $531,221 in earnings in 36 starts.
He began his stud career at Shadwell Farm, Kentucky. His top progeny included 20 six figure earners, which included Greater Good, who had six wins in 23 starts, and $546,720 in earnings; and Head Heart Hoof, who had 18 wins in 57 starts, and $509,142 in earnings.
Intidab was pensioned in November 2016, and on March 15, 2022 the 29-year old dark bay stallion was sent to Old Friends for his retirement. |
