Skip’s World was raced by Carolyn H. Hine, who had raced his damsire, the great Skip Away. Though not a champion himself, Skip’s World proved a game runner with the talent to finish up front more often than not. Bred by Michael Fennessy and purchased as a two year old for $7,000, he was trained by Harry Benson and for some of his career Carolyn Hine partnered as his owner with Gene Stevens. Skip’s World ran nearly all his races at Gulfstream Park in Florida. His win came there at age four at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf in a $38,000 maiden special weight with Edgard Zayas up. Though Skip did not win again, he held his own among good competition throughout his career, with 7 seconds and a third from 17 starts and $78,435 in earnings. Old Friends is grateful to Carolyn Hine and Harry Benson for facilitating Skip’s World’s retirement to our Kentucky farm when his racing days were done. Share sheet info – click here.
