Nobiz Like Shobiz has definitely lived up to his name. As handsome as he is talented, this son of Albert the Great knows how to wow ’em. Racing as a homebred for Elizabeth Jones Valando, he won his first start so nicely that trainer Barclay Tagg entered him next in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes. Despite traffic, he ran second to no less than Scat Daddy. Cornelio Velasquez rode again to close out his juvenile year with a win the Remsen Stakes (G2). His three year old campaign began on the 2007 Kentucky Derby trail. He won the Holy Bull Stakes (G3), finished third in the Fountain of Youth (G2), and won the Wood Memorial (G1), all with Velasquez up. Though not the winner on Derby day, Nobiz Like Shobiz returned from a rest for a strong second in the Dwyer (G2), won the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes (G1), the Kent Breeders’ Cup (G3) and the Jamaica Handicap (G2). He retired with 7 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third from 13 starts with $1,544,730 career earnings. In 2008 he entered stud at Crestwood Farm in Kentucky, siring 194 foals including 7 black type winners.
