Old Girlfriend “Favorite” was bred to be a good one. By champion Chief’s Crown, she hailed on the distaff side from a family of numerous champions and global high-weights, including our own late Swain.

For whatever reason, Favorite never made it to the races, and as a broodmare she proved hard to get in foal—leaving behind just six offspring over 15 years of breeding, three of them winners. While her legacy as producer will not be lasting, the old mare who died at age 28, held an enduring place in our hearts.
