Bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, Deeply Undervalued was owned by Klaravich Stables, Inc. and William H. Lawrence and was trained by Chad Brown. He competed at Saratoga, Belmont Park, Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, and Keeneland. He achieved his first win at age 3 on the Saratoga turf at a mile and 3/8 with jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. In that race he demonstrated patience and tactical ability.
