Old Friends provides a dignified retirement and sanctuary to horses who racing and breeding careers have come to an end. We couldn’t do what we do without you, and we hope you will continue to support Old Friends by making a donation to help our 175 retired equines. Join the GoodGiving ChallengeNow in its seventh year, The GoodGiving Challenge is an online giving campaign specifically designed to help non-profits like Old Friends. Since 2011, the Challenge– a partnership between Blue Grass Community Foundation and Smiley Pete Publishing– has raised over $7.1 million for local charities through a campaign of collective giving. Donors can contribute via GoodGiving until December 31 and they can also set up as “Ambassadors” for Old Friends and ask their friends to contribute in their own online campaign. Take Part in the Old Friends Hay-llelujah hay drive via CrowdRise!Make a tax deductible donation (through January 3rd) via Old Friends’s CrowdRise/Newman’s Own hay drive campaign and help us reach our goal of $10,000. It might be lovely weather for a sleigh ride together but the winter season is tough on horses braving the elements, and they need constant hay to stay warm. We have 175 retirees, and each can consume a bale or more per day when the weather turns arctic. (If you did the math, that’s well over 5,000 bales a month!) With your tax-deductible donation this holiday season we can be sure that our hay will come! Even cooler—the Newman’s Own Foundation is donating $500,000 to this Holiday Challenge to be given as prizes to participating non-profits.
