Summer Attraction raced on the New England circuit. Beginning auspiciously if modestly, he won his second start in a maiden special weight at Suffolk Downs for owner Thomas Willmott and trainer Carlos Figueroa, with Tamay Alpander up. A bid for the Sanford Stakes proved him no stakes horse and was returned to Suffolk but was winless for the rest of the season. From ages three through five he raced as a claimer at Suffolk Downs and Rockingham Park. Though a non-winner at three, he earned each time he raced, usually finishing in the first three. At four years old Summer Attraction was claimed by J J Gittes Racing, for whom he achieved his other three wins, conditioned by Luis Arzola and ridden by Wilfredo Lozano, Jr., Victor Colon, then Richard Johnson. He also finished a valiant second to future Old Friends colleague Slamming. In 34 starts he achieved 4 wins, 6 seconds and 6 thirds for $28,214. J J Gittes Racing partner Michael Blowen enabled Summer Attraction’s retirement to Old Friends. Share sheet info click here. Donate to sponsor Summer. Receive a certificate and 8×10 photo
