At two he won the With Anticipation Stakes (G3) on the turf at Saratoga with jockey Alan Garcia, who rode him on the Kentucky Derby trail with a wire-to-wire win in the 2011 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) for owners Namcook Stables, Paul C. Braverman, Harvey A. Clarke and Craig W. Robertson III. Soldat competed in the 2011 Derby (won by Animal Kingdom), finishing in the middle of the field. He raced at four with a win on the Gulfstream Park turf, Javiar Castellano in the irons. Soldat’s 12 starts brought 4 wins, 4 seconds and earnings of $622,760. He stood at Woodford Thoroughbreds in Florida 2014-2018 and retired to Old Friends in 2019. Old Friends is grateful to the family of Harvey A. Clarke.
